LLAMA ASSOCIATION SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

End of the Year Awards points criteria

Effective 1-1-2009

 

All awards are calculated by the ALSA point chart (15th Edition ALSA Handbook) with the exception of 1 point minimum for 1st place in a class with 1 or 2 animals.  Grand and Reserve winners will receive points based on the total number animals in the division.  Reserve will receive 1 less point than Grand.  Points for Grand and Reserve are not in addition to class points but instead of.

HANDLER AWARDS –

HIGH POINT PERFORMANCE

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

 

All points received in Advanced, Open or Novice Obstacle, Public Relations, Pack, Showmanship and Cart classes will be calculated into this award,  If the handler shows more that one llama in a class and places with more than one llama they will only receive points for the highest place awarded in that class.

 

HIGH POINT HALTER

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

 

Points will be calculated in the name that is on the certificate of registration regardless of who the handler is in the ring.  If the owner/ranch has more than one llama in a class and places with more than one llama they will only receive points for the highest place awarded in that class.

 

HIGH POINT YOUTH

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

 

To be considered for this Award you must participate in 1 of the following events,

March Magic –  Moonlight Madness – The Pet Expo

All points received in Youth Obstacle, Public Relations, Pack, Youth Judging and Showmanship classes will be calculated into this award.  Only points received in Youth classes will be calculated into this award.  If the handler shows more than one llama in a class and places with more than one llama they will only receive points for the highest place awarded in that class.  In the interest of promoting youth participation, youth are not required to own the llama they show.

 

LLAMA AWARDS

ST. ANDREWS SIR AWARD

 

The St. Andrews Sir Award is awarded to the top performance llama during the year.  Only points for advanced or Open Obstacle, Public Relations, Pack, Pack String, Cart and costume are used for this award.  Halter classes, Showmanship, and group class points are not included.  Llamas entered as a team in Pack String or Cart class will receive points respective to their placing.

 

HIGH POINT HALTER LLAMA

 

All points received in all Halter classes are calculated into this award.  The handler may not necessarily be the owner.
